STEP BACK IN TIME!

With a free perisher village tour! Daily at 3pm

As part of the PEAK Festival experience, you’re invited to join a FREE guided village tour each day at 3pm, led by long-time local and passionate storyteller, Rosemary. It’s a walking tour for about an hour.

Meet Rosemary at the centre of the Skitube terminal, where she’ll take you on a fascinating journey through Perisher’s past and present — from its early days as a handful of pioneering ski lodges to the thriving alpine village it is today. With a deep family connection to the area (her mother was a founding member of one of the village’s original ski lodges), Rosemary has been part of Perisher’s story her entire life — first as a visitor, now as a local.

Her insights, anecdotes, and personal memories make this tour a special treat for anyone curious about the heritage behind the slopes. It’s a walking tour for about an hour. No bookings required — just show up and step into the story.

This year’s theme encourages artists to interpret the ever-changing beauty of Australia’s alpine landscape — from sweeping snowlines and rugged textures to shifting light, atmosphere, and mountain forms. Whether inspired by nature, movement, community, or the spirit of the snow season, we welcome creative works that capture the essence of the high country.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend the Official Opening Ceremony on Saturday June 6 at 4:00pm. Join fellow artists, friends, family, and festival guests for an afternoon celebrating creativity in the heart of the snowfields.
