PERISHER PEAK eSTORETravelling by Car
Most people travel to the region by car as this is the most flexible and rewarding way of exploring the mountains. If you’re looking for a ride, or can offer one, make sure you check out the Travel tips on the right hand side of this page.
The Festival is located in Perisher, approximately 17km from Jindabyne.
There is a fee for vehicles using Kosciuszko National Park, with entry stations on three of the main roads entering the park. The winter surcharge daily passes are $29 from 10th June 2022 (NSW Pensioner Card-holders are exempt from this cost).
***2019 UPDATE***
PEAK Festival has been advised (4.6.2019) that there will be NO OVERNIGHT parking at Smiggins AND Perisher due to the snow conditions. We are now advising anyone staying on-mountain during the festival, to travel via skitube.
Ski Tube
A great alternative is to drive to Skitube, approximately 10km from Jindabyne on the Alpine Way. The Skitube is a safer option in regard to not needing chains, antifreeze for your car and delivers you directly to the Skitube Terminal building where the Festival Office and the Transport Team are located.
